We are really pleased that you are coming to stay with us, especially during the current situation. As a company we appreciate your concerns regarding the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and we would like to re-assure you that we take them seriously.
Firstly we ask if you have symptoms of COVID-19 you follow government guidelines and stay at home. Upon arrival at the hotel please use the main front door and sanitise your hands as soon as you enter the building. Hand sanitising stations are also available in the restaurant and public areas, but we do encourage you to bring your own small bottle with you for peace of mind. We have also implemented a one way system where possible, but we ask that all guests use common courtesy and respect social distancing guidelines when moving throughout the hotel.
Staff members are regularly washing and sanitising their hands, and you will witness them disinfecting areas regularly. This includes items that you will regularly come into contact with, including credit card machines. We have also put processes in place to minimise guest interaction such as encouraging guests to pay by contactless wherever possible. All of our service staff will also be wearing visors and have been instructed to stay at home if they have any COVID-19 symptoms. You are more than welcome to wear a mask if you wish.
We have also set up our restaurant and bar areas to ensure that our guests are socially distanced. The Manor House is a spacious building, and we are able to maintain 2m distancing throughout. To facilitate this Breakfast and Dinner will need to be pre-booked, so if you haven't already booked your table please reply to this email with your preferred Breakfast and Dinner times.
Breakfast in the restaurant, served 7am to 9.30am Monday to Friday and 8am to 10am on a Saturday and Sunday, will be cooked to order and served to the table (we are unable to offer a continental buffet at this time). Fresh tea and coffee will be served to the table, and for both breakfast and dinner condiments are offered in single use sachets.
Dinner will be served between 6pm and 8pm from a limited menu, and all menus will be printed on A4 paper and disposed of after you have ordered. Tables for dinner must be booked at least 24 hours prior to arrival due to social distancing. Please bear with us as if there are delays, due to social distancing we have restricted staff numbers.
We have tried to minimise the rooms as much as possible so we have taken all literature out of the room to reduce risk. During your stay we will not be servicing your room but if you do require extra toiletries or fresh towels please let reception know the previous evening by 9pm. Please note that irons and ironing boards will not be available during your stay.
Our spa and health club facilities remain closed at this time. Please note that we are supporting Public Health England and the NHS with Test and Trace. Your details will be shared with Test and Trace if we are asked for them, in line with our Test and Trace policy. From 24th September we encourage you to download the NHS COVID-19 app, which you can use to scan our unique QR code when you arrive at the hotel.
Please note that from Friday 18th September County Durham has been designated a local lockdown area. Therefore, please do not mix with anyone who is outside of your household. The bar will close at 10pm, and will be table service only. Please ring the bar bell and take a seat, and we'll be happy to help.
To limit time at Reception, a member of our team will call you shortly to arrange payment so that we can minimise time spent at Reception. We will also ask you to pick a 15 minute time slot for when you are checking in so that we can minimise the number of people in Reception at any one time.
In line with current government guidelines, you are required to wear a face covering in public areas in hotels. This includes reception areas and corridors.
As you can see from the above we are making sure that we are doing our very best to maintain a safe and hygienic environment to protect both our guests and our staff. Please bear with us during these unprecedented times, it is a learning curve for all of us.
We look forward to welcoming you shortly.
